Just wanted you all to know the man that is supposed to uphold all laws left the scene of an accident and was hit with a DUI.

Spoke to ABC12 the are working on the information. The SCSD and Prosecutors office will not comment...

More to come...

My source just said that he was arrested last night for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. I called ABC12 and they also said they have been working on it. The SCSD and prosecutors office wouldn't release any information so they have to do a FOIA...

Hmmmm...

So, you know the source being referred to? If not, how can you possibly characterize that source?

Perhaps it is too soon for you to make such a characterization. Only time will tell.

ABC12 called me this morning. They have received numerous calls about this. The reporter is trying to keep an open mind. His hope is that there isn't a cover up going on with it since no one will confirm.

The Argus stated they are working on it too. They need details. He hasn't been officially arraigned.

I remember all too well, an Owosso City Councilman, that was published all over the paper before arraignment. The press even went as far as to say he was visiting the 2nd floor at the hospital.

My source is Iron Clad.

I don't know or care who the source is.. I do know the date was wrong. and no one has been arrested.. and that's almost all the information provided by that source..

So it will be interesting to see how much of the sources information ABC12 news uses.. guess mlive called someone else..

The date and time doesn't make a difference. What matters is that he was driving drunk. Of course he isn't going to be arrested. If that was you or I we would have been arrested on site. Since he wasn't, I will assume that he refused his breathlizer ( which my source said he did) and that is why he was transported to MHC. They have to wait for blood test results to come back positive before it can become formal.....

Thank you Sheriff Braidwood for being an honest Sheriff...

One more thing. My source said was neglected to be mentioned. He left the scene after the accident after running over someone's foot. Of course that isn't going to be published. Wonder if his blood tests will get lost or tampered with

ABC12 Gabe Guiterrez is on his way to speak to County Administrator McAvoy. I wonder how forth coming she will be? They will be airing at noon to do a snippet on this.

inkywalnut74, For something to be ironclad it needs to be accurate.. perhaps some of the details were lost in translation... Your original post was somewhat of an attack on the prosecutors office for not replying to questions. Please take note that the incident happened at 2:45 PM yesterday and the prosecutors office closes at 5:00PM.. do you really think they had any accurate information to share before closing... Only a foolish spokesperson would have had any comments to make at that time..

You sure jumped on the band wagon fast to bash the entire prosecutors office.. and other than Mr Colbry himself no one else there has done anything wrong..

Is it being covered up, I think not!!! would we be reading about it in the paper if it was covered up?

from the Flint Journal, mlive.com:

Shiawassee County Prosecutor under investigation in drunk driving crash
by Elizabeth Shaw | THE FLINT JOURNAL
Wednesday July 08, 2009, 9:10 AM
VENICE TOWNSHIP, Shiawassee County, Michigan -- Shiawassee County Prosecutor Randy Colbry is the focus of a possible drunk driving crash Tuesday afternoon in rural Venice Township.

Shiawassee County Sheriff George Braidwood said the crash occurred at 2:48 p.m. between two vehicles at the intersection of M-21 and Vernon Road.

The driver of one vehicle was a 55-year-old Owosso man who refused medical attention.

The other driver was Shiawassee County Prosecutor Randy Colbry, 59, who was transported by ambulance to Memorial Healthcare in Owosso with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol involving Colbry is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation and the Attorney General's office has been informed, said Braidwood.

"No one has been charged at this point and we are awaiting instructions from the Attorney General's office," said Braidwood. "When the investigation is completed it will all be forwarded to the Attorney General's office and handled from there."

Brick Wall. I am sorry if I struck one of your nerves. I can't attack the office as a whole, but I can have an opinion. I am sorry that I screwed up on my time and date. Since that has got your panties in a bunch. My only concern was making sure this didn't get swept under the carpet. Since the Argus is hesitant to publish anything.

The facts remain the same. He was driving drunk, he left the scene, and refused PBT
