A few words before you get started here ...

This site is not an official Shiawassee County site, and is not in any way affiliated with Shiawassee County government or any other government entity. This is a private effort run by volunteers who are residents of Shiawassee.

We are working to build a community driven by participants. You are welcome at any time to make suggestions on how to make these forums more productive and enjoyable. We want this to be your forum, created with your ideas.

If you'd like to participate, here are some features of the forum that you might enjoy -

You can upload attachments in posts and private messages. This is set for 256K max disk space per user, with a max of 3 attachments per post and 1 per PM. In your user control panel, you can go back and delete old attachments that are no longer in use, in order to free up space for new stuff.

Max image size in post is 300x300

You should be able to upload your avatars with no problem; min size = 20x20, max size = 120x120. This doesn’t count against your 256K quota.

Private Messaging – you can create up to 10 personal folders for your private messages. You now have unlimited private messaging, and you should be able to edit any private message that you send, up until the point that it has been delivered.

You can send PMs to multiple recipients, and you can forward PMs that you receive. You can also save drafts of your PMs.

Posting – You can subscribe to topics and forums, and you can bookmark topics. The bookmarks & subscriptions will be stored in your user control panel. You have 2 hours to edit something that you post; after that, editing will be disabled. You can also save drafts of your posts.

You also have the ability to report a post to the admin. Click on the little exclamation point in the lower right corner of the post. This gives you a form to fill out. Submit that, and the post will be reported.

Signatures – Sigs can be up to 255 characters, and can include links, smilies, and images.

Account activation – Accounts have to be activated by the user, which means that upon registration, users will receive an email with a link. Once they follow the link, they are activated and can post. Previously, users had to be approved by forum admins.

Forums – Registration is required before users are allowed to post. We also have the ability to password protect forums, so if someone wants a private forum we can accommodate that. (Admins have access to all forums)
